Posting photographs

I have a question about the feature for posting photographs.

I am doing the following:

Either a photo goes up with the post, or just a link to the url for the photo.

Anyone know why it sometimes prints and other times, doesn't? The url is consistently the url for an enlarged google images photo. For example,

http://oldstersview.files.wordpress....-of-coffee.jpg

(and in this case, the photo didn't go up, just a link to the url)

On this thread, the cup of coffee only posts as a link to the url,

Dear Scared White Men of America...

This one too,

What are you reading at the moment?

On this thread, it posted (irregularly?) as a question mark/photo that doesn't print,

Not Investigating Election Irregularities...

The IMAGE CODE [IMG] is Off for this forum. See the bottom of the page.

Thanks for pointing that out. Is there a way for forum users to turn it On? Why is it On for some and Off on others?

That's up to admin and he makes that decision based on concerns about bandwidth usage and such. I asked him to turn on the [img] feature in one forum once and he gladly did it for me. I believe it was the evolution forum if memory serves. I personally would love it if it was turned on in every forum, but I think the bandwidth issue is a real hindrance to that.

PM admin with a link to this thread and ask him to respond to your question here.

Thank you, too, Archangel. It sounds like you've answered the question, but I've dropped them a PM, as you've suggested, so if there's anything else to add, I'm sure they will.

No way!!!!

I totally oppose having photos displayed in a thread. Have a look at other forums where this is allowed. Words cease and it just huge picture after picture. The picture posters highjack the threads and one can just scroll down looking at picture after picture.
It is the killer of forums. Let Antonia post picture and she will flood the forum with propaganda pictures.

Just wait and see.

A forum is a place to debate not to use as one's personal photo gallery. Those who want to post pictures go to Facebook.

So remember my words if you let Antonia do it.

Antonia seems to have too much time on her hands.
