The cold war was not unnecessary. The most effective way to prop up communism is the constant infusion of wealth stolen from new countries. Once you have tapped out your own capitalist class you must move on to all the other greedy dogs. If the US had allowed the USSR to "liberate" country after country, granting wealth and men to a unjust system of group slavery, it seems likely that NATO would have had to fight a long a brutal war to rid the world of tyranny.

The problem with left-wing loons is they don't recognize evil until if reaches out and starts killing people. By then their fellow Americans suffer as well.
You know, I really loved that one comment from that Williams guy (jb-williams.com) I once referenced, which read:
"Their (the liberal's) inability to grasp the obvious leads them into that corner every time and once there, once diplomacy has run its course without results, they are out of business."
In other words, "After the appeasing liberals are done with their seemingly endless, hot-air, wind-jamming sessions at the inept and corrupt U.N. - after clinging desperately to the coat tails of Jacques Chirac and Rosie O'Donnell; after all their sophomoric Jane Fonda and Cindy Sheehan surrender rallies and Neville Chamberlain pseudo-peace ploys; and with the bad guys still refusing to budge one iota - they're done. Finis. Game over. That's all there is from the libs, there isn't any more. Not even a lethal dose of Viagra can possibly get them to stand up now. All that’s left for them is to go home, wring their hands, and wait for the WMD’s to come crashing down on their Greenpeace-utopian fantasyland.

What would the answer of an ultra left-wing liberal president have been if 9/11 happened on their watch huh? Would they have done what Bush did and declare no mercy on the perpetrators? Or would the democrat in charge have bent over in response because war is bad?

They would have probably taken it to the U.N. for a 3-year discussion.

After the defeat of Nazi Germany everyone was weak, not just the Soviets. Attacking Russia would have been disasterous in both lives and US-European relations. And remember, we were still fighting a war in the Pacific at that point, and had to direct our thoughts elsewhere.

Communism collapsed under it's own weight. The communist aristocracy simply did not live by the true "ideals" of communism by living well above their means while the remaining 99% suffered. The fighting in Vietnam and Korea did nothing to hasten the fall of Communism.
I suppose the parallels of the present day US escape you.

You can paint it any way you want Easy. Meanwhile, Obama and his administration of left-wing loons have been busy killing Bin Laden and others at the top of terror organizations. That is the one thing his administration has actually done well. While I have little respect for Obama and his administration, I am not ashamed, afraid, or too intellectually dishonest to give credit where it is due.

So Snakesy are you saying that if 9/11 had happened under Obama's watch he and the left-wing liberal house and senate could've likely brought forth the Patriot Act and set up the DHS and Guantanamo Bay and Gitmo? Could it be Obama would've been no better than Bush when it came to reacting to the first major terrorist attack this nation has ever been subjected to?
-
Obama wouldn't have invaded the wrong country, Iraq and even less using fraudulent reasons (WOMD)
Now Obama is cleaning up the mess left behind by the right wing troika of W, Cheney and Rumsfeld

No, I don't recall saying anything like that. I recall saying: "You can paint it any way you want Easy. I would hope a president and congress would never bring forth something like the Patriot Act.
I would hope a president and congress would be smart enough to come up with something better than the DHS.
I would hope you were smart enough to know that Guantanamo Bay and Gitmo are the same thing.
I guess I'll just have to live with disappointment on all 3 counts.

I doubt that. It takes a special kind of stupid to ignore your military advisers and decide to invade and attempt to occupy Afghanistan (something that nobody has ever managed to do successfully), spending trillions in the process, instead of sending special forces in to either capture or kill Bin Laden, which is what our military wanted to do. It takes an even MORE special kind of stupid to start a second, completely unrelated, war in the middle of that which draws troops, supplies, and equipment away from capturing the guy who was responsible for killing thousands of Americans and send them off to invade another country that not only do you KNOW poses no threat to the US, but that had been actively opposing the guy who killed thousands of Americans for over a decade.
It takes just the right mix of stupid and insane to make that many massive mistakes in that short a time.

Besides....one thing we can say for sure about Obama is that he is pretty much completely ineffective. Bush may have been doing things that were mind numbingly stupid, but things WERE getting done. Given Obamas history of effective actions, I think it is probably safe to assume that if he was in charge a year later he would probably still be trying to get emergency crews to to the towers to help survivors (who would have all either died of thirst by then or wandered home on their own).

LOL! Where's the halo over his head?
Why don't the left-wing imbeciles just declare him their Messiah?
