    Ear Infections

OK So last night Sinjin and I had no sleep... The baby was up all night with an ear ache
Sinjin took him to the doc today...double ear infection...
I swear the day care germs are always lingering.
Has anyone had this experience with day care? Snotty nose all the time?
Aside from Tylenol there is not much to be done, and it is heart breaking to see them in pain

I could write a stinking book on ear infections....

And, you're right Anastasia, there's not much that can be done.

I think that any dwelling that has carpet is a potentially dangerous environment for younger babies. I can't prove it, but after I got carpet the kids began to get the worst of all earaches.

Another thing that helps is breast feeding. It seems that your natural nourishment helps to lessen the painful effects.

I can't count all the nights that Baby Tylenol and me holding a warm, damp rag of salt over the bad ear(s) finally put the poor souls to sleep. And it was about time to go to work.

I haven't been a baby-daddy in awhile, now, and there might be alternatives, but do what you can to pin down the cause before the doctors start screaming about tubes. If there's any way around it, don't let them install those things. I know it lessens the pressure but it could also cause a few more problems - especially with getting bath water in there.

My youngest son, now 17, still has one - the other "fell out" a couple of years ago. He has had to walk a tightrope all his life concerning water contamination and that included not being able to scuba-dive with his friends many times.

Hopefully, now, though, there's a better solution.
