Will Russia really be invading the Middle-East in a few years from now?

The Russian invasion of the Middle-East should be a hot topic for debate. Is Russia becoming a superpower once more? Russia economically has ties to mostly all its former Moslem republics. Russia is building an airfield in Belarus and Russia is building a military school in Armenia. Russia is closely associated with Iran, has sold military weapons to the Sudan and Libya recently has tried to acquire Russian weapons. Russia firmly backs Syrian president Assad and would go to war just to keep him in power.

What are people's thoughts on this issue?

They are an OPEC power... Economically and socially they are still in the 1970's. Their work in the nations you have mentioned is more a reactionary fear of Chinese influence...
