If they did have the funding, would you want to install metal detectors at schools? You put entrance to the classrooms, I doubt you really want that.

I would think this would be obvious, but...
Neither! If a murderer walks into court and is found guilty, do the put the principal in prison? No. The mother? No. They put the shooter in prison because it was he/she that was responsible for pulling the trigger. Dee-de-dee.

If the child is of an age to know right from wrong, they are also of an age to take total and sole responsibility for their actions. Hence I would not vote in a poll like this, as the true answer is not on the ballot.

the real responsibility
How about those who commit the violence. While both schools and parents, along with things like video games and TV, may bear some responsibility, let's place it squarely where it belongs/

Those same TV shows and video games do not produce violence in many other countries where they are consumed with zest equal to that in the U.S.

The prevalent Gun culture is the main reason for all killings
All schools in the world have kids fighting among themselves....
All the societies in the world have insane and depressed people...
but not in all societies do we have gun in each house.
Also the next generation grows on qualities imparted in them by their parents...

the both option?
why no both?
anywhoo i think both the parents and school are to blame as well as the kids. all are equally responsible for actions taken place.

Actually many do

Actually many do, other countries have much stiffer penalties for lesser crimes. We are so tied in knots about criminals rights that we can never get to what the other countries are blessed with.

School violence
I agree with society being the cause of school violence. I dont believe its the schools fault, and it is not necessarily the parents either. If society didn't put so much pressure and stress on children these days, then maybe they wouldn't be as corrupted and turn violent. Being a high school student, I understand the pressures from society, and it is hard to deal with. I understand why some kids go insane and express there rage with violence. Another problem with this political issue would be how easy it is for some kids to get these weapons to cause all this violence. If we eliminated the pressures and easy access to the violent tools we wouldn't have this major issue in the first place.

Should have other answers possible
I think you should have had kids as c with d being both a and b, and e being all the above.
It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.
