pls tell me TOTALLY how many tenses type in English ,is it totally 16 from simple present, past.......to........ present prefect continuous......., pls ??? :eek:

and I want to have a summarize table of that for a review, where can I have that info pls ??? :D



cos our "Chinese verb" don't have another forms:- "tense" or he,she it "third person singular forms", that's one of the troubling for us Chinese to learn English grammar !

(and our "Chinese nouns" don't have single or plural form too !)

Broker, you cannot count how many tenses totally in English ???seems to be 12 or 16, I just forget now, pls count that when you have time and tell me later, that's not urgent, tell me at any time when you think of that out is okay, thanks!

we Hong Kong people used to use "24 keys only" ( this is the most common input methos we use to type now) of the keyboard to input our daily use "13,053 characters" (totally we seems have more than 20,000 charaters- in fact, we usually don't need that much charaters), and Chinese people just use "5 keys only" of the keyboard to input Chinese words.

(anyway our most common Chinese words use daily are about 500-1,000 characters )


we can use our Chinese input method to type in the speed of almost 100-200 words per minute while English typing speed is usually just 35-60 w.p.m.

that is something like :- simple present tense, simple past tense, simple future tense, perfect tense, .......then present continuous tense, present perfect continuous tense, past perfect continous tense.........

yes, each of our charaters is different from each others, not just simply make by letters A-Z .

Probably because I don't need to know...I know if without thinking about it or considering it. Anyone learning a foriegn langauge has to master that area and think about it while they get comfortable with the language.

Chinese children must have a time...learning each one. How long does that process usually take?

Why is English so troubling? Because it's mainly Germanic, but also latin based with heavy French influence. We pieced parts together and made up some slight changes and some complicated rules...English is said to be the hardest language to learn.
