As Gods word, the bible is self evident and self supporting as an historical and spiritual document. People who deny that jesus is the christ obviously don't believe in your foolish joke of a religion.

I think for it to be an actual lie the person that is lining must believe it's true to begin with and then lie about it.

I do not believe that Jesus is the Christ, but if I said that I believe that Jesus is the Christ I would be lying.

I do not believe that Jesus is the Christ so to tell the truth I would have to say I do not believe that Jesus is the Christ.

The Bible is only historical in the context that is is old.. Nothing in it has been nor ever will be proven with empirical evidence. A book written by ancient sheep herders , re-written and edited many times over the centuries, only speculation as to whom wrote what , and most of it is either fairy tale or delusional dreams borrowed from earlier cultures and plagiarized to fit the preconceived theology of those very same ancient sheep herders. Denying that which does not exist is not a Lie. Telling others they will burn in a pit of fire unless they conform to your delusion IS a lie.

People lie because of fear. Nothing else. Fear of the consequences of an action that was already done. Lying doesn't change the action, nor the potential consequences, it just attempts to prevent somebody from finding out the truth.
