Did you happen to catch the news that Congress received over 100,000 calls an hour asking representatives to vote no on the bill?
These folks are those you declare stupid and mock by calling them "teabaggers".
But what the majority of people in this country define as stupid is anyone who would believe the words "Hello I'm from the government and am here to help you". They also define stupid as someone willing to circumvent the legal process to force compliance of a partisan agenda causing all citizens to give up freedoms in the process.
And the stupid of all stupid are those who listened to the president yesterday when he lamented over those in his party having to make a "tough" vote stating he has been in their shoes as he encouraged his party faithful to fall on their swords and the dumb Democrats listened and cheered their leader forgetting he (Obama) in his short political career voted "present" 128 times.

Simone and her ilk have lost sight of the self sufficiency which made America the greatest and richest Country on Earth. She forgets that when a people revert to reliance upon the Government rather than self reliance, the next step is total dependency to the State leading to total control by the State of the people. These Tea Partier's are revolting against the unconstitutional attempt by these Liberals to fundamentally change America at its very capitalistic free market core into a socialist state on par with Hitlers Nationalist Socialist Party. That is our fear and it is valid.

I sure hope the "teabaggers" are nothing like the folks on this forum because then Simone would be right...not that Simone is any better.

If the insurance companies did their job and controlled cost it would be only 1/12 of the economy. But ten the government would not have to take over.

The following countries have universal healthcare. All of Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Israel. Are all of them on par with Hitler's National Socialist Party?

We want this bill to pass. It will be the central focus for the 2010 Elections. The Republicans can run ads stating that dispite a 20 point gap between those that didn't want this passed and those that did, the Democratic Congress CHOSE to ignore the will of the people. The Republicans will pledge to undo this unwanted law.
Just as Congress was lost by the Dems in 1994 because of Hillarycare, the same will happen in 2010 over Obamacare.
Just ask yourself, if this bill was so good for the country, why did so many Democrats have to be bribed in order to vote for it?

I don't want this bill to pass just to win in 2010. If you think passing a bill into law is hard to get done, try undoing it once it has passed. Do you know that Social Security and the Income Tax was originally said to be temporary when enacted and were never intended to become permanent institutions? Just look at them now, they are so entrenched as to have been ordained by God.
Do you realize how massive the government healthcare infrastructure will become by 2012 even though the law wont even be enforced until 2014? I fear it will be too large to dismantle and we will be forever tied to this pro-socialist debacle.

I agree Archangel. Once it becomes LAW it is very tough to undo the damage.
What I do find hopeful is what the states are gearing up to do. The lawsuits are about to be filed. I believe there are close to 40 states involved. Congress may be able to make LAW over all the land but that LAW must be constitutional. Clearly, forced coverage is not and placing a burden on the states that they can not meet isn't either. And the process in which this bill is getting passed may also strengthen the cases.
I don't think those folks who are in favor of this bill have any idea what the financial burden this boondoggle will be on the states that inevitably will mean higher state and local taxes compounded with the added taxes in this bill that will affect all of us.. I don't believe they have really thought through the idea of giving the IRS the power to police their health care. I don't think they realize how long it is going to take to see a doctor because of the shortage of doctors this bill is going to create. We have already heard from them and were warned that if this bill was to pass, many will retire early and others will close up their practice. Then there are those who are opting out not to see anymore Medicare and Medicaid patients because they can't afford to because the states are having a difficult time in reimbursing them.
It's a friggen mess.

Great post and an accurate assessment of the situation. All one has to do is look at Massachussets to see how the budgetary estimates are nothing more than pipe dreams when compared to the reality just 4 years after being enacted. Even the CBO said their estimates were just that, based on the numbers they had to work with.
We can't lose sight of the fact that the government has never run a business successfully at a profit. It isn't designed to run businesses but to run beurocracies. It spends money, it doesn't earn money. We are being told to pay for a program for the next 4 years before it will actually become active, yet they think we are dumb enough to believe them when they say this is a cost neutral program as if it wont cost us anything in the long run.
It's the lies that get to me more than anything, but every single aspect of this healthcare bill is founded in lies and misinformation. But those on the left defend these lies as if their lives depend on it. I'm truly saddened by todays events; my America is polarized and at opposite ends of the spectrum. The vote is currently 174 Yea and 146 Nay, it is believed that the dems have the 216 votes needed to pass this sham of a bill.

It's a shame that this bill does not adopt the healthcare system of e.g. Australia, but instead takes the monstrous american system and further deforms it.
The only beneficiaries of this bill are the corporate interests that bought and paid for it.
It's a sad indictment of the american "liberal" left that it can't tell the difference between utopian socialism and fascism. Ask yourself, "What would Karl Marx do?" WWKMD - would he endorse forcing workers to purchase insurance?
He or she who supports a State organized in a military way whether directly or indirectly participates in sin. Each man takes part in the sin by contributing to the maintenance of the State by paying taxes.

I think that anyone that would make such an assertion must be a racist for thinking that the only people that will benefit from it are poor and therefore must be minorities. There are more poor whites than poor blacks.
