Well, I've seen some emo makeup cases that were far from a waste of makeup and, er, made quite an emotional impact (right between the legs, to be honest)...

LOL yeah, this kind of makes me a hypocrite in my stance against emo kids but I think emo girls are cute.

I think it's kind of weird how they're trying non-conformity yet they all have the same style.

I don't know how to explain it, but Goths are a bit darker looking than emos. Scene kids, on the other hand, are easy to distinguish from Goths and emos because they like to wear bright colors. All three subcultures waste makeup and hair dye, IMO.

As you can see Goths are more dull-looking than emos. Basically, emo is glam goth and scene is glam emo. But in my personal opinion, all three of them are freaks.

This says it all. Thanks for both the insight and the clarification. You've given me another reason to be thankful my daughters are 29 and 30 years old, respectfully because they completely missed these fashion statements or trends, if that's what you would call them.

One can only imagine. I can assure you that we never saw any of what currently exists coming down the pike. So only God knows what fads will show up in the future.

That's why I hate Cradle of Filth, because they're Gothic wussies who make people think that emo kids listen to metal. Emo isn't metal, if most emo kids listened to metal, their brains would leak out their ears.

Gothic kids mostly listen to symphonic metal bands (posers) like Cradle of Filth while emo and scene kids normally listen to emo bands like Green Day or Fallout Boy. Those bands are weak, IMO. I have nicknames for those bands but I don't think this is the appropriate place to use them.

I hate emos. They're retards.

Actually I'm optimistic about these subcultures.

You see, it started out with punks. Punks evolved into goths, goths evolved into emos, and emos evolved into scene kids. Hopefully, the scene kids will evolve into chimps and the chimps will evolve into humans.

Calling these kids "emo" is actually sort of a misnomer. Almost none of these so-called emo kids listen to actual emotional hardcore. Even that Hawthrone Heights band that they all seem to listen to is more pop-punk than emo.

I personally respect the wussy "emos" more than I respect the ones who go around trying to act tough. At least the less macho-acting emos realize that dying their hair and whining about how nobody loves them doesn't make them look tough.

I laugh at pretty much anyone who thinks their subculture makes them tough (e.g. punks, wiggers, some scenesters, etc.)
