Schools should not adapt uniforms.

Most importantly, the majority of students would prefer to chose what they wear.

Furthermore, unconfortable (most fancy clothes are in more childrens' opinions) uniforms would be much more of a distraction from learning than other peoples choices in clothing.

Some feel that uniforms would take away from students creativity. Even if this is false, it does not mean there is any reason for uniforms.

Uniforms would not decrese people making fun of each other. People will do it for other reasons anyway.

Uniforms will encourage, not discourage rebelion.

If uniforms are adapted, parents will have move clothes to buy for their children since they will still want clothes for after school and on weekends along with their uniform.

The "it gets them ready for real life" is silly. Children don't need to wear uniforms for 13 years to learn how to wear uniforms.

The idea that children make their own dress code may be true, but irrelevant, since that doesn't logicly lead to wearing uniforms. And children prefer the uniforms they get to chose.

It only brings a school together in the sense that they look similar. It doesn't make anyone care more.

Also, uniforms wouldn't decrese how much students get in trouble for what they wear, it would be more frequent for someone to break the rules if there was more to break.

I think school uniforms are unecessary. (Sorta like communism in my opinion!) Dress codes always seem to work the best.

well.. I've been in both schools with and without uniforms, and I find that I liked it better with uniforms. Never thought I would, on account of I'm all for individuality. But thats just my experience.

School uniforms should not be allowed in the public school system. Private schools are a different story.

uniforms encourage collectivism school should be a place where kids develop thier own identity. most high paying jobs don't require uniforms and teachers don't require uniforms. but a job like flipping burgers, janitoring require uniforms and most parents don't want thier kids sweeping florrs and flipping burgers

School uniforms decrease the amount of fighting between the students. When everyone is wearing the same thing they can't bully others about not being as fashionable or as cool.

Schools that have uniforms have less bullying.

I think all kids should wear uniforms, not just at school, but all the time, day and night.

Maynard kids should not be forced to wear uniforms. how can they learn in school while being forced to wear stupid clothes?

that was actually a joke. I have changed my veiws on school uniforms. where whatever the **** you want, go naked as far a im concerned. i graduated 8 years ago, and i have no kids, so it affects me none. hell, i dont even care if any kids go to school anymore, let them get stupider.

I know girls who think the skimpier the clothes the better. That's the image they want to portray. I think there should be limits on short skirts and what not. Besides this whole dress for success thing is based on the idea that when kids leave school they'll all be working in a corporate environment where clothes are ever so important.
But what about the kids who want to be dancers and fashion designers and archaeologists? Why should they be dressed like lawyers and brokers and insurance salesmen?
