Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"
Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!
Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!
Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!
So continue ---- Mr. President we know you'll do the trick
So here's a hearty hip-hooray ----
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
sinjin - Maybe you could point out into which politics the kids are being indoctrinated? Democracy? Equality? Capitalism?
What if we substitutes "Barak Obama" in the lyrics with "Jesus Christ". Would you have a problem with that?

You know I would. Students of different faiths or no faith at all should not be subjected to Christian ritual as part of their secular, public school education.
"They asked if I had found Jesus and I didn't even know He was missing."

So, by replacing Obama's name with Jesus' you believe it would be a form of worship, correct?
So tell me again why you think it's OK to have little kids spout this in school?

If we replace Obama's name with Washington or Jefferson or Lincoln, would it still be "worship" IYO?

Do you always answer a question with a question?

I would not use the word "worship" to describe a song honoring an American President.
Would you support songs about Allah, Krisna and/or Buddha being sung in American public schools?
And why would Jewish kids be expected to sit through Jesus songs in class?

No, he didn’t chop down the cherry tree
But one of his officers, Henry Lee
Said he’s first in war and “first in peace
First in the hearts of his countrymen”
“Father of the Country”
Chorus:
George, George Washington, he was the first President
George, George Washington, he lead the battle for independence
Born in 1732
He’s as true as the colors
Red, white and
his eyes were blue.
He was six feet tall
Stood for liberty and justice for all
Lead the Continental Army
Defeated the British, and we were free
“Father of the Country”
Chorus:
George, George Washington, he was the first President
George, George Washington, he lead the battle for independence
Born in 1732
He’s as true as the colors
Red, white and
his eyes were blue.
President of the convention that wrote our constitution
And turned into a working government
Chorus:
George, George Washington, he was the first President
George, George Washington, he lead the battle for independence
Born in 1732
He’s as true as the colors
Red, white and
his eyes were blue.

Abraham.....
He’s our man....
Abraham .......
Lincoln was the 16th president
A back-woods country boy
Practiced law in Illinois
He appeared on the scene
When the U.S. had a need
Democracy to save
He soon showed us the way
Abraham.....
He’s our man....
Abraham .......
Lincoln was the 16th president
Tall, lanky, Honest Abe
‘Railsplitter’ was his nickname
Storyteller extraordinaire
Lawyer, politician fair
He failed in all enterprise
Yet we see life through his eyes....
He loved books and chose to read
His mind saw a constant need
Self-improvement was his game
Even after he’d attained
The highest office in the land
Showing us that we, too, can.
Abraham.....
He’s our man....
Abraham .......
Lincoln was the 16th president
In 1861 the Civil War had just begun and Abraham was President
And he would see there was no resentment
From the vanquished side
His country was his pride.
But an assassin’s gun
Destroyed that hope for everyone
Plunged into a dark despair
We looked for help everywhere
But we came through it all
And we still hear freedom’s call....
And so as we sing of Abe
And think of all the times he talked on fair play,
He would emphasize it
Showing the world all his pride
A self-made, honest man
Showing us that we, too, can.
Abraham.....
He’s our man....
Abraham .......
Lincoln was a great, great President !!!
sinjin - Now are these "worship" songs?
"They asked if I had found Jesus and I didn't even know He was missing."

Now if you're feeling miserable, if you're feeling blue,
Here's a little ditty that'll help to pull you through,
All the clouds will disappear, the grey skies turn to blue:
Just stick your finger in your ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo.
Now suppose you've got the fell pest, the gout and goose's cough,
A severe attack of hiccups and your kneecap's just dropped off,
The surgeon says "We'd operate, but the anaesthetic's gone,"
You just look up and smile at him and say "You carry on."
"I'll stick me finger in me ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo,
Me finger in me ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo,
I'll just be like Nelson at the Battle of Waterloo,
I'll stick me finger in me ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo."
Now in '14 and in '39, war raised its ugly head,
The bombs they fell on England, and one fell on my shed,
But we fought and beat the Germans 'cos we knew just what to do:
We stuck our fingers in our ears and went ting-a-ling-a-loo.
Prince Philip said "Get your fingers out" and that cut me to the quick,
We got our fingers out, but that didn't do the trick;
So follow your true leaders with all your might and main:
Be like Thatcher, Blair and Brown and stick 'em back again!
Oh stick your finger in your ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo,
Your finger in your ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo,
Remember what old Gladstone said in 1892:
Stick your finger in your ear and go ting... a... ling... a... loo!
Brits sing these fine words from Mr B Hill when we are in peril.
Richard Dawkins quote..
.'I dont think its a very important question whether Jesus existed. Some historians.. MOST historians think he did.
I dont really care, precisely because its petty. Maybe I've alluded to the possibilty that some historians think Jesus never existed. I take that back Jesus existed........

All I asked you to do was substitute Obama with Jesus. You are the one that labelled it. If it wasn't worshiping with Obama's name, how is is worshiping with Jesus' name? The rest of the lyrics didn't change.

No, I wasn't.

Your choice of words, not mine. I said a song about Jesus is Christian ritual.
"They asked if I had found Jesus and I didn't even know He was missing."

Just a thought that came to mind that would probably fit better in the earlier discussion in this thread. None of the leftists seem to care that kids are singing about Obama. What they were made to sing about Bush during his presidency? And what would they say if McCain had won the election an kids were made to sing about him?
My imaginary friend left me. He said his other friends didn't believe in me.

I did a little research and it turns out there are a number of "Dubya" songs out there.
The lyrics of most would be unseemly for school kids to be singing.

This doesn't help you. I've never heard of any kids in grade school being made to sing about Bush, as everyone would say it's indoctrination, yet the leftists have no problem with kids being made to sing about Obama.

You'll have to substantiate your claim that, "everyone would say it's indoctrination".
I wonder if no pro-Dubya or pro-Reagan songs exist because Righties can't write decent songs,
or is it that there's so little about their heroes worth praising, making second verses problematic?

Rightists like Ted Nugent?
Anyhow if it's evidence you're after that people would say it's indoctrination to make kids sing about Bush, I don't have it. I don't have evidence that grass is green either. Tell me, would you call it indoctrination if kids sang about Bush, or would you defend it like you do pro-Obama songs?
